NYS Bar AdmissionMr. Rutkowski received his Undergraduate Degree in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland; later, he earned his Law Degree from Hofstra University in Nassau County and is permitted to practice law in the Courts of New York State.
Upon being admitted to the bar, Mr. Rutkowski worked for an investigative firm before becoming a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney. He was a prosecutor for over six years, working in the District Court, Case Advisory, East End, and Major Crime Bureaus of the D.A.’s office. As an A.D.A., Mr. Rutkowski prosecuted criminal cases in every court in Suffolk County including District and County Courts, as well as Justice Courts in the Towns and Villages of Southampton, East Hampton, Quogue, Westhampton, Riverhead, Shelter Island, and Southold. As a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Rutkowski has handled a wide array of criminal cases ranging from simple vehicle and traffic matters to misdemeanors and serious felonies including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, rape, robbery, burglary, and homicide.
Mr. Rutkowski has appeared on criminal matters in all jurisdictions on Long Island.
Mr. Rutkowski resides on the North Fork with his wife and young daughter.
